Barn for rehabilitation with yard & views.

Set within one of Spain’s highest villages (1648m.) and right in the edge of the town area, the property consist of a typical masonry stone building (industrial use): a 54m2 construction. Within the property there is a 40m2 front yard and 19m2 back yard. In all, building plot and yard add up to a 102m2 footprint plot of urban land. This is a free standing, semidetached construction on  the outer & upper part of a quiet village. Oriented to the Southeast and with views to the Sierra de Gredos, the property is ideal for turning into a habitable building with its corresponding rehabilitation project. The starting point for its rehabilitation should begin with architect’s project, through which you’ll ensure the buildings structural and functional safety. Thus, the new housing would have a privileged situation with its fabulous views to the Sierra de Gredos. The property is recorded in the land register. Though set next  to the domains of the Regional Park of Gredos, the property is within 15 minute drive from nearest  village of El Barco de Ávila, and yet only one hour away from the near town of Ávila and 2 hours from Madrid.
According to the journal of Ávila (05-04-87), Navasequilla is the highest inhabited village in Spain. The village is geographically located on the opposite mountains to Gredos Mountain, parallel to the Tormes River. Its privileged location gives a rich landscape. The circus of Gredos its five lagoons are perfectly seen from Navasequilla. The vegetation and fauna of the area is abundant and varied. Elm, poplars, pine, oak, birch, chestnut… predominate in the surrounding area. Among the most characteristic fauna highlights are: the imperial Eagle, the Griffon Vulture, kites, White-throated Dipper, Water Pipit, Rufous-tailed Rock Thrush, Citril Finch, Common Crossbill, Hawfinch, Crested Tits... What’s more, due to the fact that most of the municipal land is set within the domains of the Natural Park of Sierra de Gredos; the area is also catalogued as Birds Special Protected Area.
Navasequilla has a deeply rooted farming heritage activity as the basis of its economy. Fundamentally, primary sector is the basic economy of the town, with livestock being predominant. This also means that currently, the typical popular architecture of this traditional village is: narrow streets with masonry stone buildings. Given these traditional constructions, including barns for cattle and haystack, performed with small windows and masonry walls, there also are numerous places of interest such as: the river bridges, Church, Chapel, its mills, with its ancient sources of stone, without forgetting many the rural footpaths that will lead you to unsuspecting corners and allow you to carry out relaxing country strolls.
